Becoming a Yoke Yoga Creator: Building Your Unique Skills and Sharing Yoga Your Way

At Yoke Yoga, we recognize that there are countless ways to teach yoga, each with its own beauty and value. Being an excellent yoga teacher isn’t about being skilled at yoga on short-form or long-form video—it’s a completely different set of skills.

Whether you love teaching in small backyard gatherings, studios, workshops, or online, each approach is valid and vital. Your worth as a yoga teacher and practitioner is not determined by the platform you use to share your passion.

If you’re interested in building your skills in creating short-form video content, you can! And if not, that’s perfectly okay too. Here’s what we’re looking for in Yoke Yoga creators and how you can develop those skills if you wish to join us in this journey.

Why Short-Form Video?

In our mission to bring accessible yoga to people everywhere, we’ve found that short-form video is a highly effective way to reach a broad audience. This format allows us to connect with people where they are, offering them valuable practices like mantra, mudra, meditation, pranayama, and asana in a concise, engaging way.

Creating compelling short-form video content requires certain skills, such as crafting a captivating hook and explaining the benefits in the caption to engage the audience. This is what we’re currently focusing on, though our approach may evolve as we grow.

What We’re Looking for in Yoke Yoga Creators

We are looking for creators who:

– Consistently and actively post yoga videos (not limited to asana; can include mantra, mudra, meditation, pranayama, etc.)- Have a clear focus or subject matter expertise- Know how to engage an audience with a clear hook in their videos- Can edit their videos to create a polished final product

Your video history should tell your story as a yoga creator, reflecting your focus areas and unique style. For example, when you look at my Susanna Barkataki account, you can see a consistent theme: I teach yoga for personal and social change. Similarly, on the YokeYogaSocial account, each video has a caption, and the grid together tells a story about accessible, fun, community-based yoga.

Learning and Developing Your Skills

If you’re interested in becoming a yoga creator on Yoke Yoga, know that these skills can be learned and developed. I didn’t always know how to create engaging short-form videos; I had to learn through observation, practice, taking courses, and getting coaching.

Here are a few resources that can help you develop these skills if you’d like:

Teach Yoga to Millions: A 6-week accelerator designed for yoga teachers to become highly effective yoga creators. This course is priced accessibly at $297 or 3 payments of $99.

Coaches I’ve Learned From:

Jaya Rose

Monique the Socialista

Alicia Marfatia

My social media manager, Trish Hosein

Please note that these coaching programs are often higher ticket investments, ranging between $1-3K per month. If you decide to reach out to them, let them know I sent you!

Taking a course, training, or coaching isn’t necessary or a guarantee of any results. Enrolling in “Teach Yoga to Millions” does not guarantee that you will become a creator on Yoke Yoga. The training is excellent, but it requires consistent action and practice. So, take on learning in this area if it feels important to you internally, not just for any external result.

There are countless ways to share the incredible tradition of yoga, and each way is valid. At Yoke Yoga, we’re grateful for the diverse ways you show up to share yoga, whether through video content or other means. Your love for yoga and your desire to share it with others in the ways that only you can is truly appreciated.

Thank you for being part of this community. Whether you choose to dive into the world of short-form video or continue teaching in your unique way, know that you rock just as you are.

If you’d like to apply to be a creator on Yoke Yoga please do! We would love to see your application. You can apply here.
